ABC'S Lynn Sherr Chairs Membership Campaign

Lynn Sherr, Turtle Bay resident for almost 25 years, is the honorary chair of TBA's millennium membership campaign.

Ms. Sherr is familiar to Turtle Bay residents for her contributions as news correspondent on the ABC television program "20/20." Before joining "20/20" in 1986 she was a national correspondent for ABC news, and has covered a range of stories from national politics to NASA space shuttle missions.

She has been the recipient of many awards, including those for her reports on anorexia and bulimia, Susan B. Anthony, Ireland's abortion amendment, open-womb surgery, breast cancer, schizophrenia, the abortion pill, sexual harassment, tattooed cosmetics, the ozone layer, Norway's prime minister, and Continental Can's secret plan to fire employees before they could collect their pensions.

Listed in Who's Who in American Women, Ms. Sherr also covered the Oklahoma City bombing, the Paris Air Show, the American hostage situation in Iran, the United Nations' Women's Conference, the Claus von Bulow trial, and has been a floor correspondent at both the GOP and Democratic conventions.

A graduate of Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, and Wellesley College, Ms. Sherr says she thinks "we've got the best neighborhood in the city." The Turtle Bay Association has garnered, to date, more than 270 new members thanks to her enthusiastic endorsement.
