The New York Public Library (NYPL) has announced that its Grand Central Branch located at 135 East 46th Street will reopen on Monday, October 18th. The branch, which originally closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, has remained closed since then due to HVAC repairs.
Service at this branch will include the following:
- Limited use of reading areas and open seating (the second floor will not be in use)
- Browsing and holds
- Desktop computer usage and laptop holds
As of October 5, 2021 the NYPL announced that all late fines have been eliminated going forward and all existing fines and fees in patrons accounts have been cleared. You can learn more here.
