The art installation by artist Matthew Willey, now on exhibit in Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, is part of the global initiative “The Good of the Hive,” intended to stimulate dialogue and awareness of how the health of honeybees, pollinators and the shared environment affect our own health and food supply
Willey has created a symbolic honeybee swarm “resting spot” on the DHP’s gazebo structure (upper left) and four abstracted, hand-painted wooden honeybee hives for the sculpture platform.
