by Michael Zullo

The Jubilee 1st Avenue Restaurant, opened in 2012 by Master Chef and Academie Culinarie of France Luc Holié and his wife IIda Araujo, co-owners.

IIda is from Portugal, raised in France, and worked in the restaurant business in Paris before she met Luc in NYC in 1998.

Master Chef Luc learned his skill of preparing food in France. He worked for more than 20 years in restaurants including a 1-Star Michelin and a 3-Star Michelin restaurant in the south of France.

Over the past 7 years the Jubilee 1st Avenue Restaurant has attracted a steady stream of Turtle Bay neighbors and international tourists who enjoy authentic french cuisine and elegance to casual dining in a charming and vibrant atmosphere.

Additionally, on September 23, 2019, Luc and llda were honored to host Emmanuel Macron, French President (above, thumbs up), who enjoyed lunch at the restaurant. This brings recognition to the good reputation, quality and tasty food to a highly experienced Chef, who prepares meals using the best, high quality ingredients to ensure consistency.

Some of the dinner menu specialties offer appetizers such as
broiled snails cassolette with garlic and parsley butter – – classic French onion soup with croutons and Swiss cheese; main course: oven roasted rack of lamb with potato gratin and tomato Provençale – – roasted sea scallops with orzo, porcini sauce and parmesan and mussels prepared in 10 different ways. Desserts: classic crème brulée with cointreau and molten chocolate cake with caramel ice cream.

Additionally, you’ll find a selection of fine wine from France, Italy, Argentina & California. Also, a fantastic selection of French Reserve wine.

In addition to their dinner menu there’s a pre fixed lunch for $35.00; a two course pre-theater menu with a choice of 1 appetizer + 1 main course or 1 main course & 1 dessert which includes a glass or wine or beer or a half bottle of mineral water.

Also featured is a Saturday & Sunday pre fixed Brunch from 12 to 3:30pm which includes up to 3 Bloody Mary’s or Mimosas for $32.00.
